PRP
PRP(Platelet-Rich Plasma) Treatment
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy refers to treatment enriched with plasma enriched by platelets, which are one type of blood cell. Blood is primarily divided into two components: plasma and cellular components consisting of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. PRP is derived from the plasma portion of blood. The role of platelets is to promote blood clotting and release growth factors that accelerate wound healing. In recent years, PRP has increasingly been used in facial aesthetics for skin rejuvenation, yielding promising results. Numerous scientific studies are ongoing in this field.
PRP application involves using plasma obtained from the patient's own blood. Approximately 10 cc of blood is drawn and processed through special filters, then centrifuged to prepare the platelets for application. It is utilized for skin rejuvenation and care in areas such as the face, periorbital region, neck, décolletage, and scalp. By initiating a repair process for deep wrinkles and addressing volume loss, it stimulates the formation of new tissue similar to the surrounding tissue. PRP is safely administered using specialized kits, with no observed side effects if proper preparation and sterility are maintained. The procedure involves injecting approximately 4-5 ml of plasma using fine needles, similar to mesotherapy and typically takes about 45 minutes.
For optimal results, PRP treatment is typically conducted in 3 sessions spaced 2-3 weeks apart initially, followed by maintenance sessions every 6-12 months. It may take several weeks from the first treatment to observe the maximum expected effect.
